How to oil cutting boards: Oil and Wax your Cutting Board or Butcher Block with Clark's!

How To Oil and Maintain a Wooden Cutting Board, Butcher Block, Salad Bowl or other Wooden Utensils.

What You Need:

Wooden cutting board, butcher block, salad bowl, spoons, or other utensils

Clark's oil and wax applicator or a clean, soft cloth or paper towel

Clark's cutting board oil

Clark's cutting board Wax Finish

Instructions

  1. Start with a clean board and utensils. Be sure your cutting board and spoons are as clean as possible and thoroughly dry.  We recommend Clark's cutting board soap specially formulated to do just that!
  2. Apply Clark's oil. Using a clean, soft cloth or paper towel, apply the oil in an even layer over the wood.
  3. Let it soak in. Leave the oil to soak in, overnight if possible, or for at least a few hours.
  4. Remove the excess. If the board or your spoons feel oily or sticky, buff off any remaining oil with a clean dry cloth or paper towel.

This video does a great job of explaining the proper use and technique for applying Clark's cutting board oil and wax.
